Tour Itinerary
The itinerary listed below is the itinerary for our 2025 tour which was spectacular. The 2026 itinerary will be updated soon and very similar to this itinerary. Please check back for updates or call our office to be added to the group. It’s going to be fabulous once again.
Day 1 Your Pacific Coast Journey will begin today with a nonstop flight from Salt Lake City to San Francisco, California. We will begin with a great photo opportunity at the Golden Gate Bridge before crossing over it and enjoying the afternoon at Sausalito, the charming waterfront town across the bay from San Francisco.
Next up is a visit to Muir Woods National Monument (named after John Muir). Here you’ll have a chance to walk among ancient coastal redwood trees, some of the oldest and tallest trees in the world. We will settle in at our comfortable accommodations at the Oaks Inn and enjoy a group welcome dinner. (dinner included)

Day 2 Today we begin traveling Northbound on Highway 101. Humboldt County is the heart of Northern California’s Redwood Empire. This is where people journey to truly appreciate the tallest trees on earth. In Humboldt County we will pull off Highway 101 and take an amazing 31-mile scenic drive known as the Avenue of the Giants – for a slow-paced scenic drive in the dense redwood forest. Without a doubt, the best way to view the redwoods is in a touring motorcoach with large windows and someone else at the wheel. Have your cameras ready!
Next up is Eureka, which has a history of fishing, farming and especially logging. Today Eureka is a virtual open-air museum of architecture, dedicated to preserving one of the finest and largest collections of Victorian homes in the world. We will include a stop at the famous Carson Mansion for a photo opportunity. Our dinner tonight is at the Samoa Cookhouse, the last surviving lumber camp cookhouse in the West. Accommodations will be at the Holiday Inn Express in Arcata. (breakfast & dinner included)
Day 3 After breakfast today we will continue traveling north into Redwood National Park. We will make a fun stop in Klamath where you’ll get to visit Paul Bunyan and Babe, the big blue ox. We’ll even visit a drive-thru tree, one of just 3 remaining redwoods that you can actually drive an automobile through.

Truly walking among the giant redwood trees is one of life’s memorable moments and you’ll have one last chance to stroll on a level pathway beneath these majestic and massive trees. Then we cross the border from California into Oregon and begin enjoying the dramatic coastline where almost every mile has something intriguing waiting for you. Highway 101 is never far from the pounding surf of the Pacific Ocean. From the lush rain forests, to the rocky headlands, to the towering dunes, the Oregon Coast is truly one of the world’s most scenic byways. We will enjoy a group dinner before reporting to the Pier Point Hotel where we get to stay for two nights. (breakfast & dinner included)

Day 4 Sleep in this morning as we only have a few miles to drive up the road to visit the Oregon Sand Dunes National Recreation Area (which is a 50 mile stretch of sand dunes along the coast, stretching from Coos Bay to Florence). Here, we will get on a large dune buggy for a thrilling ride over miles of sand. (Yes, this is a popular attraction for senior tours in the area and our groups in the past have loved this unique experience). Our comfortable motorcoach will take us up shoreline drive just 14 miles where we will have an opportunity to visit the picturesque Heceta Head Lighthouse, one of the most famous and photographed lighthouses along the entire west coast. Late this afternoon you’ll have time to relax back at the Pier Point Hotel, which is perched on a bluff overlooking the Siuslaw River. You might want to soak in the hot tub, relax in the sauna or take a dip in the swimming pool. Transportation will be provided for those wanting to visit the nearby Sea Lion Caves attraction. (breakfast included)

Day 5 The fun continues as we travel along the Oregon Coastline. This morning we have admission covered for you at the Pacific Coast Aquarium, which is located in Newport, Oregon. You’ll have a chance to get up close to the marine life such as cute otters, silly seals, and mysterious sharks. Our lunch stop will be at the Tillamook Creamery where you get a brief tour of this popular cheese and ice-cream facility.
Later this afternoon you’ll have a chance to walk on the beach at the world-famous Cannon Beach. Have your camera ready for capturing Haystack Rock. Just nine miles up the road from Cannon Beach is the charming resort town of Seaside. It is here that we will spend the next two nights. You’ll love Seaside! A quintessential boardwalk experience awaits you here. (breakfast included)

Day 6
Kick back and relax in this resort coastal town. Perhaps a walk along the beach or a swim in the ocean is on your agenda today. Our boutique hotel, the Kathryn Inn, is within walking distance of all the excitement of this beachside town, so whatever you do, the fun is nearby. You can spend all day the beautiful Seaside, or if you want a change of scenery, you are welcome to join an afternoon drive further up the coast to Astoria, Oregon, which is situated on the mighty Columbia River. You’ll have about 2 hours to experience Astoria before returning to Seaside in time to dine at one of the many restaurants on Broadway Street for dinner. (breakfast included).

Day 7 This morning we leave the coast and head towards Portland. But first we need to experience the dramatic scenery and steep walls of the mighty Columbia River Gorge at the Crown Point Vista House. Next up will be Oregon’s 620-foot-high waterfall, Multnomah Falls, for a great photo opportunity with time to enjoy Oregon’s top tourist attraction. We will also enjoy a relaxing luncheon at Multnomah Falls Lodge before heading to the airport for our flight home with many great memories of our journey up Highway 101. (breakfast & luncheon included)
