Day 1. October 12 – Depart the U.S. today on your flight to Brussels, Belgium.
Day 2. October 13 – Arrive in Brussels today, where our group will be met and assisted with transfers to the pier in Antwerp. Here, we will embark the riverboat. You will have the afternoon at your leisure. Perhaps you will want to head out on an orientation walk of the nearby area with your Program Director. In the early evening, gather for your first Port Talk – a nightly briefing, given by your Program Director, designed to prepare us for the next day’s activities. D
Day 3. October 14 – Get to know Antwerp, Belgium’s second largest city, and a major diamond center, on a morning walking tour. Stroll through Old Town, visiting the landmark Grote Market, a square surrounded by 16th century guild houses, and the Town Hall. Tonight, enjoy a Captain’s Welcome Dinner as we cruise to Willemstad, the Netherlands. B,L,D
Day 4. October 15 – Enjoy time on your own in the historic town of Willemstad. Or, join an optional morning tour to learn the fascinating story behind the Delta Works Flood Control Project. This project is considered to be one of the “Seven Wonders of the Modern World,” and was established to prevent floods like the 1953 disaster which claimed thousands of lives. Following lunch onboard, visit Kinderdijk to witness its 19 iconic windmills, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. B,L,D
Day 5. October 16 – Set off for a walking tour of 2,000 year old Nijmegen – the Netherlands’ oldest city. Although Nijmegen was heavily damaged during the Second World War, its historic town center emerged unscathed. After the walking tour you’ll have free time to explore further, returning to the ship for an onboard lunch and dinner. B,L,D
Day 6. October 17 – This morning in Bonn, Germany we set off on a walking tour of Bonn’s Old Town that includes the Baroque City Hall, Romanesque basilica, and Beethoven’s memorial. Continue your explorations on your own, before returning to the ship. B,L,D
Day 7. October 18 – We will disembark in Cochem to visit Reichsburg Castle, including a scenic drive up from the river valley to the top of the rocky hill on which the castle is perched. B,L,D

Day 8. October 19 – Join an onboard Exclusive Discovery Series conversation about the European Union. Then, embark on a walking tour of Trier where you’ll explore its ancient ruins, including the second-century Porta Nigra (Black Gate) and the Basilica built by Constantine. After lunch at a local restaurant, the rest of the day is yours. B,L,D
Day 9. October 20 – Enjoy a relaxing day of cruising, basking in riverside views of one of the most scenic sections of the Mosel River. Or, join a full day optional excursion to Luxembourg, the tiny country whose territory is comprised of less than 1,000 square miles. B,L,D
Day 10. October 21 – Set off on a morning walking tour of Bernkastel. After your introduction to the storybook town’s half-timbered houses and petite shops, you’ll have free time to explore on your own. Then, head to one of the town’s most famous wineries for an Exclusive Discovery Series visit to see its inner workings – and sample a few vintages. B,L,D
Day 11. October 22 – Explore the historic streets of Boppard – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – on a morning walking tour. Or, join an optional outing to Marksburg Castle, one of the most beautiful palaces situated on the hills that line the Rhine River. Then, enjoy an afternoon of scenic cruising. B,L,D

Day 12. October 23 – Disembark this morning for a walking tour of Speyer – and witness its striking Romanesque cathedral. Then, join a local family for an Exclusive Discovery Series Home-Hostel Visit, which will give you a glimpse into everyday German life as you share some homemade treats. B,L,D
Day 13. October 24 – Discover Strasbourg, France on a walking tour along the city’s famed canals. Then enjoy some free time to explore this charming city. Or, you may wish to join our optional Black Forest tour. Later this afternoon, take part in an Exclusive Discovery Series conversation about how the Russian war in Ukraine is creating an energy crisis in Germany. B,L,D

Day 14. October 25 – After breakfast, discover Riquewihr on a walking tour. Then we’ll return to Strasbourg and board the ship for lunch. This evening , we’ll cruise toward Basel, Switzerland.
Day 15. October 26 – Explore Switzerland’s second-largest city on a morning walking tour of Basel. This afternoon is yours to pursue your own interests. This evening partake in an Exclusive Discovery Series conversation about Switerland Today. Gather with your fellow travelers in the evening for a Captain’s Farewell Dinner. B,L,D
Day 16. October 27 – Today we wil transfer to the airport for our flight home. Or you may extend your vacation with the purchase of an optional visit to Lucerne, Switzerland. B
