Hawaiian Island Cruise with Norwegian Cruise Lines
Friday, January 12th – Fly from Salt Lake City to Honolulu and overnight in a Waikiki Beach Hotel. (flights can be arranged to depart from other cities)
Saturday, January 13th – Enjoy your morning in Waikiki. Perhaps you’ll want to take a walk along the famous Waikiki Beach. We will depart the hotel at 11 am and travel to nearby Pearl Harbor for you to pay your respects at the Arizona Memorial. We will board our cruise ship later this afternoon for a spectacular week cruising the Hawaiian Islands. Aloha!
Sunday, January 14th – Welcome to the beautiful island of Maui. The ship will arrive at 8 am and you have today and tomorrow to explore Maui. The options are plenty – join an optional shore excursion, rent a car and enjoy the coastal drives, soak up the sun on one of the many incredible beaches or sign up for a whale watching cruise. Whatever you do – it will be a fabulous day in paradise!
Monday, January 15th – The ship departs Maui at 6 pm so you have plenty of time to enjoy another awesome day on Maui. For a one-of-a-kind experience, book an excursion to see the Haleakala crater. You’ll ascend to the top at 10,000 feet and see the summit which is a crater that is 7.5 miles long by 2.5 miles wide and dips down around 3,000 feet. Haleakala has been dormant for years. In fact, it hasn’t erupted since 1790.
Tuesday, January 16th – Hilo is the jumping-off point to some of the most rugged experiences in Hawaii. Explore Hawaii’s volcanoes, such as Kilauea Volcano, which is the most active volcano in Hawaii. It has been erupting almost continuously since 1983. The volcanic soil of Hawaii lends itself to some of the most beautiful tropical flora, which can be found in abundance on the Big Island. Book an optional waterfall adventure, or go big with a helicopter ride over Kilauea. The ship is in port from 8 am until 6 pm.
Wednesday, January 17th – Kona offers some of the most iconic Hawaii experiences for all visitors. Kona’s crystal clear blue waters offer some of the most abundant tropical marine life for snorkeling. Puuhonua O Honaunau takes you back to the Polynesian history of Hawaii. And how can you resist an opportunity to sample some of the famous Kona coffee or macadamia nuts? Consider booking a deep-sea fishing trip, black sand beach hike, or one of the many other great options. Kona itself is a charming village just for walking around during the port hours of 7 am until 5:30 pm.
Thursday, January 18th – Nawiliwili is your gateway to Kauai, another of the most beautiful Hawaiian Islands. Take a hike through the lush rainforests of the “Garden Island,” which includes Nounou Mountain, the 3000-foot-deep Waimea Canyon, dramatic Opaekaa Falls, and Fern Grotto, a large natural grotto covered with hundreds of hanging ferns. Cap off your Hawaiian holiday with a traditional Luau as well. The ship will overnight on Kauai so that you can explore even more.
Friday, January 19th – More time to explore the Garden Isle before the ship sets sail at 5:30 pm.
Saturday, January 20th – Your cruise ship will arrive at the Aloha Tower cruise terminal in Honolulu this morning where you will disembark the ship after a fabulous week of cruising. But the trip is not over yet. Today you’ll enjoy a circle island tour of Oahu visiting sights such as the Dole pineapple plantation and gardens, the beautiful North Shore beaches which are famous this time of the year for surfing competitions. You’ll also have time to stroll around the manicured grounds of the Laie Temple, and have a photo opportunity at the scenic Pali lookout. Back in Honolulu we will visit the Punchbowl Cemetery, which is known as the Arlington Cemetery of the Pacific. Our flight will depart in the evening and arrive home Sunday morning.
