Cruise Vacation Itinerary
May 22nd – Today we board our nonstop flight from Salt Lake City to Amsterdam in preparation of an amazing two weeks of spectacular scenery cruising the Fjords of Norway.
May 23rd – Amsterdam with its iconic canals lined by slender gabled buildings and spanned by arched bridges is considered to be one of the most beautiful and charming cities in the world. Amsterdam’s condensed layout means you can fit a lot in even on a short trip, as you hit the city’s most famous attractions and discover under-the-radar surprises.
May 24th – We will board our ship the Rotterdam, in the city of Rotterdam which the ship is named after. Rotterdam is Netherlands’ second-largest city and Europe’s busiest port. Sometimes referred to as “Manhattan-on-the-Maas,” the city lives up to its reputation as a forward-looking metropolis with fascinating design and some of the Netherlands’ finest museums and most trendy shops.
May 25th – A relaxing day at sea to enjoy the many amenities the ship has to offer.
May 26th – In the shadow of snowy peaks and stunning blue-green fjords, Eidfjord is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful villages in Norway.
Hardangervidda, near Eidfjord, is Europe’s largest mountain plateau as well as Norway’s largest national park.
Numerous canyons, including the famous Måbødalen Valley, lead south from the Hardangervidda plateau to the fjords along the coast, and about 10 miles south of Eidfjord, visitors can see the dramatic 597-foot-tall Vøringfossen waterfall.
Later today we will cruise, Norway’s Hardangerfjord region. At 100 miles long, the fjord is the fourth-longest in the world and plunges down almost a half mile at its deepest point. Take in the best of the landscape from the unique vantage point provided by the fjord as you sail inland from the island of Stord toward the ever-more-imposing mountains of the Hardangervidda National Park. Waterfalls, islands and shoreline villages dot the journey.

May 27th – The ship will visit the port of Ålesund from 10 am until 10 pm today. Ålesund, a quaint fishing town in western Norway, has been called Norway’s most beautiful city.
Bordering the Norwegian Sea, this area is also famous for its mountain ranges and fjords. For those looking for a more active visit, Ålesund offers great hiking, mountain biking and kayaking. One of the highlights is climbing the 418 steps that lead up Mount Aksla for a spectacular view of the city and the Sunnmøre Alps.
May 28th – Nestled between Europe’s largest mainland glacier and Norway’s wildest coast at the western cape, Nordfjord offers breathtaking scenery, with mountain peaks, rolling farmland and a rugged coast line.
Today we visit Nordfjordeid, Norway where you will have many optional shore excursions to choose from to experience the features of the area and to deepen your understanding of the people who live in this beautiful part of Norway.
May 29th – Bergen, Norway is a top port of call for cruises up the fjords. Known for its historic wooden buildings and bustling waterfront, Bergen offers a charming mix of cobblestone streets, medieval architecture, and vibrant markets. Treat yourself today by purchasing an optional tour and discover the highlands, a waterfall or perhaps a taking funicular ride up Mount Floien to 1,200 feet above sea level for magnificent views of Bergan and the surroundings.
May 30th – A relaxing day at sea onboard your floating resort. Perhaps you’ll want to visit the spa and be pampered while at sea.
May 31st – We return for the day to visit the city of Rotterdam. Optional shore excursions abound for the area. You can even visit nearby Amsterdam which is bursting in color during the spring.
June 1st – You can sleep in today and even take a nap by the pool as the ship will be at sea today.
June 2nd – Norway’s Sognefjord is the longest and deepest fjord in the world. Imagine 127 majestic winding miles of beautiful villages, centuries-old architecture including wooden stave churches, towering mountains with snow-covered peaks, cascading waterfalls and panoramic views.
June 3rd – With Norway possessing countless famous natural landmarks—its glorious fjords practically enjoy celebrity status. Today, Norwegians know the town of Haugesund as a cultural center with popular music and film festivals. As in many Scandinavian port towns, a long row of handsome old commercial buildings line the Smedasundet waterfront; today, they house busy restaurants. A block inland, the Haraldsgata pedestrian street has a folk museum, the brick Our Savior’s Church and plenty of shopping. It is also easy to get from Haugesund to the massive glacier fields of Folgefonna National Park and to the 2,008-foot high Langfoss waterfall.
June 4th – Discover the coastal elegance of Mandal and Kristiansand where you’re invited to experience the beauty of Norway’s southern shores. From pristine beaches to cultural attractions, these ports offer a unique Norwegian experience.
June 5th – Oslo, Norway’s capital, blends history with modernity. This vibrant city features top museums, modern architecture, and Viking heritage. Highlights include the Oslo Opera House, Nobel Peace Prize sites, and Vigeland Sculpture Park. Explore via hop-on-hop-off buses or fjord tours for a diverse array of experiences. Surrounded by the Oslo fjord, hills, and parks, Oslo is a must-see destination.
Later today we cruise the Oslo Fjord. Not a fjord in the geological sense, the Oslo Fjord is actually a vast expanse of water stretching south from the Norwegian capital for nearly 62 miles. Almost half of Norway’s population lives within an hour’s drive of the fjord, so there’s plenty to see along the shoreline, from islands and skerries to major towns and cities. The picturesque coastal town Drøbak marks the entrance to the inner Oslo Fjord, where the waterway narrows and the islands are increasingly inhabited.
June 6th – A sea today today to enjoy the unparalleled service and luxurious amenities onboard your ship the Rotterdam.
June 7th – All good things eventually need to come to an end and today we disembark the ship and fly home with magical memories and spectacular photos of our time in beautiful Norway.
