Southern Charms Tour
April 8 – 14, 2026
featuring Charleston, South Carolina; Savannah, Georgia; Jekyll Island and more charming towns!
Day 1 –
Your exciting Southern Charms Tour begins with a flight departing from Salt Lake City (flights departing from other cities can be arranged). Your hotel accommodations will be at a resort right on the beach at Jekyll Island.
Day 2 –
After breakfast at the hotel and a relaxing morning to enjoy the beach resort setting, we visit the resort community of Jekyll Island, Georgia. During the Gilded age, Jekyll Island was a favorite playground of the wealthy movers and shakers (names like Firestone, Morgan, Rockefeller and Vanderbilt). Now 65% of the island is owned by the state of Georgia and remains undeveloped for guests to enjoy the beaches, marshlands and woodlands. After touring the island and the mansion-sized “cottages,” we’ll enjoy lunch before continuing our touring.
Later in the day we will visit the neighboring island of St. Simons with our local guide, Theresa. This resort area is known for golfing and tennis. We will view the Christ Church and tour inside the St. Simons lighthouse. You will have free time to visit the shops at St. Simons Village Pier and to purchase dinner. Then it’s back to our beach accommodations on Jekyll Island. (breakfast & lunch included)

Day 3 –
Just 81 miles to the North of Jekyll Island and awaits “The Hostess City of the South,” Savannah, which is the home of the largest National Historic Landmark district in the United States. We will enjoy lunch at the famous River Street where old cotton warehouses have been converted into trendy shops, taverns and restaurants.
This afternoon we will enjoy a guided tour of Savannah’s sprawling Historic District which is noted for its tree-filled squares, cobblestone streets, manicured gardens and oak shaded parks. Our guide, Brandon (a former National Park Service Ranger) will share with us great stories regarding the Revolutionary War, Civil War and Civil Rights history that took place here in Savannah. You’ll soon realize why Savannah is considered one the most beautiful and fascinating cities of the world.
While touring this beautiful coastal region we will visit the Scarborough House, which is the home of the Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum. What a great day in a magnificent historical Southern City. (breakfast and lunch included)

Day 4 –
A fun day is planned as we visit the Savannah Low country which will include a visit to the most laid-back location on the whole southeast coast – Tybee Island. We will board the Bull River cruise boat and enjoy an excursion of the inland waterways (have your camera ready for this dolphin watch adventure). An unforgettable lunch stop is planned at the Crab Shack which is a attraction in and of itself. Next up is a visit to Fort Pulaski National Monument, one of the last brick and mortar forts built in this country. It has quite a history of the Civil War days. Our evening will be filled with great live entertainment at the Savannah Theater – America’s oldest operating theatre. (breakfast included)
Day 5 –
Today we begin touring beautiful antebellum Charleston where magnificent formal gardens grace much of the historic district. Charleston has been voted one of the top destinations to visit in the world and has even topped the list as #1 by Travel and Leisure Magazine (as well as other magazines). Our local city guide, Miss Mary, will inform us about this remarkable city that survived the Civil War, major fires, an earthquake and hurricanes – and still exudes elegance, charm and grace. Our tour will lead us past cobblestone streets, historic homes and restored buildings, some with origins prior to the Revolution. We’ll stop at the battery overlooking Fort Sumter, where on April 12, 1861, the first shots of the Civil War were fired. Later, you’ll have free tie at the vibrant historic City Market for browsing and to purchase dinner. (breakfast included)
Day 6 –
Our day will begin at the historic Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. These gardens are over 325 years old and attract tourists from all over the world. We’ll visit the gardens, take a tram tour of the plantation and tour the home that graces the property. Have your cameras ready as it is springtime here in the South, and it is a photographer’s dream.
We’ll learn more about Charleston’s fascinating history while we cruise the gentle waves of her harbor. We will see some notable landmarks and hear enthralling tales of the city’s colorful past. Who wouldn’t enjoy cruising along the coastline of this beautiful city, nicknamed the “Holy City?”
The South is known for its great food and superb restaurants, and we have a wonderful dinner planned for you tonight. (breakfast and dinner included)
Day 7-
We will report to the Charleston airport and head home with a new appreciation of the South and her charm and gracious hospitality. (breakfast included)
