All of this while enjoying the scenery that is ever changing on both sides of the Ohio River. (dinner included)
Wednesday, October 13th – Prepare to be blown away as you explore the life-sized reconstruction of Noah’s Ark. Built according to the dimensions given in the Bible, the Ark Encounter is a jaw-dropping structure you’ll be amazed to experience. Have you ever wondered……How big was Noah’s Ark? How did Noah get all the animals? How did Noah feed and care for all the animals? How did Noah build the Ark? This full-size Noah’s Ark was built to attempt answer these questions – and more! You will be free to enjoy your own self-paced tour of this fun and educational experience.
This afternoon after checking into our hotel we will enjoy a guided city tour of Kentucky’s capital city. Dinner tonight will be at the Glen Willis House, an antebellum home perched on the banks of the Kentucky River. Here we will enjoy a tasty dinner along with some great Bluegrass live entertainment. (breakfast, lunch and dinner included)
Thursday, October 14th – Today we will visit Horse Racing’s Living History Museum. At Old Friends, the non-profit Thoroughbred Retirement Center in Georgetown, KY, the horses may not be racing anymore, but they are winners every day. Founded in 2003 by former Boston Globe film critic Michael Blowen, Old Friends cares for more than 200 horses, many of them stallions whose racing and breeding careers came to an end. A “Rural Hall of Fame,” the farm welcomes visitors to get up close and personal with such stars of the turf as Kentucky Derby and Preakness winners Silver Charm and War Emblem, Belmont Stakes winners Sarava and Touch Gold, and many more. Hear their stories, meet them in person….er…horse. Guests come to visit a few ex-racehorses, and they leave having been touched by the heart of a thoroughbred hero.
This afternoon you’ll visit the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory where you’ll be able to immerse yourself in all things baseball. You’ll get to see today’s baseball bats created right before your eyes. Be sure to take a photo of the world’s largest bat, rising 120 feet in front of the museum. This evening, sit back and take in the Glitz, Glamour and Good Times of a Broadway style musical, along with a lavish dinner at the Derby Dinner Theater. (breakfast and dinner included)
Friday, October 15th – There’s no experience quite like a once-in-a-lifetime chance to spend a morning on a private backside tour at Churchill Downs Racetrack. You will get a behind-the-scenes view of Thoroughbred racing at the “World’s Most Legendary Racetrack.” Along with more than 1,400 stalls that are mostly all full during the peak season, we’ll enjoy breakfast in the Horsemen’s Track Kitchen, see the horses training rail side, catch them during a bath and learn about life at the track. Be sure to bring your cameras because on any given day of training, guests will get an up close and personal view of the horses, jockeys, trainers, and other connections who live the sport of horse racing! This tour is exclusive and not available to the general public.

Here we will visit the National Quilt Museum, which is the largest quilt and fiber art Museum in the world, and one of the most popular attractions in Kentucky. You’ll enjoy three galleries of breathtaking fiber art made by some of the most talented artists in the world. Art abounds at the museum – and it’s not all about quilts! Sunday, October 17th – The King’s breakfast (classic Southern cooking) will be served in Delta’s Kitchen at the Guest House. Today we will explore the sights and sounds that made Memphis the “Home of the Blues” and “Birthplace of Rock ‘n Roll!” On our tour of Memphis, we’ll make a stop at historic Levitt Shell (where Elvis gave his first paid concert), St. Jude Pavilion, the Pyramid and the March of the Peabody Ducks. You’ll have time to purchase your lunch on the the world-famous Beale Street.
This afternoon we’ll tour Sun Studio. Sun Studio is known worldwide as “The Birthplace of Rock ‘n Roll”. It is the discovery location of musical legends and genres of the 50’s from B.B. King and Elvis Presley to Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis; from Blues and Gospel to Country and Rock ‘n roll.
