It is not a cliche’ – San Diego really does have some of the most enjoyable weather anywhere,
with miles of soft sandy beaches, a world-renowned zoo, spectacular golf courses, and memorable destinations like La Jolla, Coronado and Del Mar.

Day 1- Monday, January 26th –
Your vacation begins with a late morning flight from Salt Lake City to San Diego, where the weather is nearly perfect every day. Upon our midday arrival we’ll board our private motorcoach and travel to Old Town San Diego State Historical Park, which is considered to be the birthplace of California. You’ll have time to browse around and purchase lunch (some of the best Mexican food restaurants in the west are located here at Old Town).
This afternoon we’ll travel nine miles north to the upscale oceanside community of La Jolla where we will have a local guide share the history of the area and take us on a short walking tour of the village of La Jolla, and to view the bluffs, coves, and rocky shoreline of La Jolla’s spectacular jagged coast. You’ll have free time to stroll Prospect Street, which is a paradise for elegant shopping, browsing and dining.
Hotel accommodations are at the Hampton Inn, located just a block from the waterfront with easy access to the Maritime Museum, Seaport Village, Little Italy, the USS Midway and many more tourist attractions.
Day 2 – Tuesday, January 27th
After breakfast at the hotel this morning we are headed for a day of fun at the world famous San Diego Zoo. Here you can walk or ride the trolley to visit the sites of this amazing zoo. Who doesn’t love a zoo? And this is one of the world’s finest. A few of the popular regions of the zoo include: Polar Bear Plunge; Tiger River, Gorilla Tropics; Sun Bear Forest; Elephant Odyssey; Ituri Forrest (like an African Safari); Panda Trek; and Absolutely Apes.
After a day at the zoo we will dine together as a group at a popular restaurant in San Diego’s Little Italy district which is near our hotel.
Day 3 – Wednesday, January 28th –
Today is your day to enjoy at your own pace. We have included in your package admission to the Maritime Museum (located one block from the hotel) where you can explore a number of vessels such as: tall mast sailing ships, submarines, deluxe yachts, steam ships, and even more.
You’ll also get to enjoy your own two-hour narrated harbor cruise onboard the Hornblower, which offers several departure times throughout the day. You can plan your cruise around your other activities. With your free time today you may wish to play an optional round of golf, attend the beautiful San Diego LDS Temple, go shopping, explore the Birch Aquarium, go whale watching, or just relax on the sandy beach. Transportation to the optional features is on your own but a inexpensive UBER ride will get you there fast. (We can assist you with setting up UBER rides)

Day 4, Thursday, January 29th –
A fun day exploring San Diego is in store for you today. Your personal pass to the San Diego Hop-on, Hop-off Trolley will take you to popular tourist attractions on your own schedule. You can visit such places as: Majestic Balboa Park with it beautiful botanical gardens and museums (entrance fees are not included), Gaslamp District, Seaport Village (for waterfront boutiques and dining), Old Town San Diego Historic Park, and visit Coronado via the impressive Coronado Bridge where the Trolley will stop at the famous Hotel Del Coronado. Be sure to check out the beach. There are other stops along the route as well. Have fun!
Day 4, Friday, January 30th –
Dolphins, Beluga whales, and penguins, oh my! Today we have the splendid opportunity to enjoy award-winning animal presentations at SeaWorld. Be sure to check out the Sea Lion and Otter spotlight, Orca Encounter, Dolphin Adventures and a variety of other shows. (If visiting the Zoo and SeaWorld is too much wildlife for you in one week – please call our office to work out a replacement for one of these fine options). San Diego has so much to offer.
Day 5, Saturday, January 31st – Enjoy a relaxing morning at the hotel or take a stroll along the boardwalk. Whatever you do – it’s hard to beat a beautiful morning in San Diego. Midday we will make our way to the airport and catch a flight back home, filled with many great memories of our days in the sun.
OR you can extend your vacation and cruise south from San Diego on a weeklong cruise to Mexico. The cruise terminal is just down the street a very short distance from the hotel, and transportation will be provided to get you to the ship early in the afternoon.
January 31st – Board the Norwegian Jade for your week of adventure as you set sail for the Mexican Riviera.
February 1st – Sit back and relax and enjoy your floating vacation resort. Today is a sea day giving you a chance to get acquainted with the ship and enjoy its many amenities.
February 2nd – All ashore that’s going ashore. Your cruise ship will be visiting Cabo San Lucas where the striking desert landscape meets the infinite blue of the ocean. The beaches are postcard perfect and the charm of the locals and the rich culture makes for a fun visit. (The ship is in port from 10 am until 7 pm)
February 3rd – Nestled along a magnificent coastline, Mazatlán is renowned for its sandy beaches, charming historic center, miradors, nightlife and long seafront promenade. Come and learn why they call Mazatlán the Pearl of the Pacific. (The ship is in port from 8 am until 6 pm)
